Tamaskan Temperament and Lifespan

Tamaskan dog is the breed more like a wolf, but there is nothing in it from the wolf. The breeding work started in Finland in the 1980s. Breeders had set a goal to bring the dog to the exterior of the wolf, to keep all the positive qualities of the dog. The dog has turned universal. Tamaskan dog is larger than husky, but less than the Malamute. Northern intuity was involved in the breeding of Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, German Shepherds, Huskies of the Finnish Hound. Each dog was carefully chosen according to the appearance, temperament, character and health.

The first recorded litter was born in 2002. The breed has spread around the world. By 2012, 3,000 litters were registered but were not recognized by the FCI. Tamaskan dog is a rare, big, athletic, multifunctional working breed. It is very robust, works well in a team and is devoted and a great companion for the family. The dog's lifespan is about 12-15 years.

The price for this dog breed ranges from $ 1400 to $1800 and maybe higher depending on the dog quality. The breed and show quality dogs cost more than pet quality puppies which can cost $700.

Tamaskan dog is a friendly breed that is good with strangers and very affectionate with children of any age. This dog is not a good guard, but it can be a great keeper, as it is vigilant and, as a rule, will proclaim the barking of the approach of a guest or stranger. The dog gets along well with other dogs and animals. It can peacefully coexist with cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, birds or any other animals. However, it is strongly recommended to socialize your dog well, because it still has a hunting instinct.
